Transgendered, broke, laughing, saving for the changes that need to place to become the best I can be. Thats what I tell my therapist. She smiles, nods and agrees.

I felt I wanted to get in touch with you after hearing you being interviewed by Michael Grade on Radio 4 earlier this week.
I’m a 46 year old, fairly happily married, mum of 3. I’m also a playwright.
In 2013, I was asked by Hull Truck Theatre to take part in a two day workshop with the theatremaker Daniel Bye along with Middle Child Theatre Company. We basically read the papers over two days and wrote short plays about articles which took our fancy. One of the articles I chose was an inquest report in the Guardian about a transgender teacher who had taken her life. I wrote it from the point of view of a parent of a child in that teacher’s class and how the impact of losing his beloved teacher had had on her son. I called it Shame on you Richard Littlejohn as this is what the Coroner said in his report. The plays we wrote were then performed in the studio at Truck.
It would be really good if you would read it and let me know what you think. It’s a monologue and not very long. I could email it to you if you’d like. I’ve never done anything like this before but when I heard you on the radio I immediately thought of the article I’d read.
Hope to hear from you.
Hi thats fine, I am happy to help. I was fairly involved in that case having recently set up a trans teachers network. Find and add me on Twitter @sosocy and we can exchange emails by DM.
